On 4 September 2025, CPG Director Henning Glaser attended the official farewell of Professor Jérôme Samuel, Director of the Institut de Recherche sur l’Asie du Sud-Est Contemporaine (IRASEC), marking the conclusion of his tenure in Southeast Asia. The occasion was hosted by the French Ambassador to Thailand, His Excellency Jean-Claude Poimboeuf, with a luncheon held at the Ambassador’s residence on the Chao Phraya River.

CPG expresses its sincere appreciation to Professor Samuel for the long-standing and fruitful cooperation, and to IRASEC for the kind invitation to contribute once again—now for the third time—to the upcoming yearbook L’Asie du Sud-Est. Bilan, enjeux et perspectives.

The collaboration with IRASEC remains a significant expression of Franco-German friendship in Southeast Asia and continues to hold special importance for CPG’s academic and institutional engagement in the region.
