This afternoon, Professor Dr. Dr. Rainer Hofmann from Goethe University Frankfurt delivered an insightful academic talk on international trade law at CPG’s special lecture titled “German and EU Supply Chain Regulation and GATT – A Problematic Relationship (?)” His presentation provided a nuanced perspective on the compatibility of supply chain regulation with the General Agreement on Tariffs and Trade (GATT), focusing on Germany’s supply chain law and the European Union’s Corporate Sustainability Due Diligence Directive. His talk was greatly discussed by Lucas Meier, CPG Senior Program Officer and Deputy Head of CPG’s Compliance & Governance hub.
Professor Hofmann holds the position of Senior Professor of Public Law, International and European Law at the Faculty of Law of Goethe University Frankfurt am Main, where he also serves as Co-Director of the Wilhelm Merton Center for European Integration and International Economic Order.
