ESG / Sustainability
Introduction
ESG—short for Environmental, Social, and Governance—has evolved from a voluntary commitment into a core element of regulatory compliance, corporate governance, and strategic risk management. Organizations are increasingly required to demonstrate how sustainability responsibilities are assigned, controlled, and enforced across their structures. ESG therefore directly affects regulatory exposure, reporting obligations, access to capital, supply-chain positioning, and long-term operational resilience.
In Asia and Southeast Asia, sustainability requirements are intensifying rapidly—driven by international regulatory developments, particularly from the European Union and the United States, as well as by accelerating domestic reforms. For companies operating across borders or integrated into global value chains, ESG has become a decisive governance issue rather than a matter of external positioning or communication.
Our Approach
Within this context, CPG supports organizations in addressing ESG at the level where sustainability becomes a question of corporate control, accountability, and decision-making. Our work focuses on the governance structures, control mechanisms, and organizational processes that determine whether sustainability obligations are identifiable, enforceable, and defensible under evolving regulatory and market expectations.
Anchored in our Governance & Compliance Hub, this focal area brings together CPG’s expertise in public policy, regulatory development, and corporate-responsibility frameworks with strategic foresight and deep contextual experience in Thailand and Southeast Asia. Our work covers the full sustainability-compliance architecture — including reporting and disclosure, carbon and environmental management, traceability and supply-chain transparency, human-rights and social responsibilities, governance and integrity systems, and the risk- and control mechanisms required to operationalize them.
Delivery within the CPG Ecosystem
All ESG and sustainability services are delivered within the broader CPG institutional framework. This allows ESG advisory, governance design, and compliance support to be complemented by executive briefings, capacity-building formats, and executive education programs—ensuring that ESG governance is not only designed and implemented, but also understood and sustained at leadership level.
In this field, CPG works in close partnership with The Keystone Group (KSG). KSG contributes decades of experience in diplomacy, governance, change management, and sustainability, supporting organizations in translating regulatory requirements and ESG principles into practical, operational solutions. Through advanced analytics and AI-enabled tools, KSG strengthens transparency, improves compliance monitoring, and transforms complex sustainability data into actionable insights.

Assessment & Diagnostic Analysis
In this field of practice, CPG supports organizations in establishing a clear and decision-relevant understanding of how ESG and sustainability responsibilities are currently structured, governed, and controlled. The focus lies on identifying strengths, structural gaps, and latent governance risks across accountability arrangements, control functions, reporting lines, and risk-management interfaces.
The objective is to provide a robust analytical basis for informed decisions on governance reform, regulatory preparedness, and sustainability strategy, avoiding ad-hoc or fragmented ESG interventions.
Governance & System Design
This field of practice focuses on the design and structuring of ESG governance and sustainability compliance systems. Work in this area addresses how responsibilities are allocated, how oversight and control mechanisms are established, and how sustainability requirements are embedded into core governance and decision-making processes.
The aim is to create governance architectures that are coherent, auditable, and resilient under evolving regulatory and market expectations, while remaining operationally feasible within existing organizational structures.
Implementation, Integration & Change Enablement
In this field, CPG supports the translation of ESG governance frameworks into operational practice. The focus lies on integrating sustainability requirements into workflows, internal controls, and organizational routines, and on managing the change dynamics that accompany ESG-related reforms.
This includes addressing role clarity, functional interfaces, and implementation risks to ensure that ESG governance does not remain a formal structure but becomes an effective and sustained element of day-to-day decision-making and operations.
Regulatory Foresight, Training & Capability Building
This field of practice addresses the forward-looking and capability-building dimensions of ESG and sustainability governance. It combines regulatory foresight and strategic monitoring with targeted training, executive briefings, and capacity-building formats.
The objective is to strengthen organizational understanding of emerging ESG requirements, enhance internal decision-making capability, and ensure that governance and compliance structures remain adaptable as regulatory frameworks evolve across jurisdictions.
Signature Programs
Each of our signature programs is built on a maturity-based advisory model that helps organizations progress from awareness to full integration and strategic leadership.
Rather than offering isolated trainings or compliance checklists, the programs guide companies through structured development stages—from understanding regulatory and market expectations to designing governance systems, embedding them operationally, and ultimately achieving cross-framework alignment.
This tiered approach allows every organization, regardless of size or readiness, to engage at the appropriate level and advance at its own pace.
Advancing Your ESG Governance Framework
This program supports organizations in establishing, strengthening, and operationalizing a coherent ESG governance and sustainability compliance framework. It addresses how ESG responsibilities are structured, how oversight and control mechanisms are designed, and how sustainability obligations are embedded into core governance and decision-making processes.
The program typically combines diagnostic analysis, governance and system design, implementation support, and targeted training formats to ensure that ESG governance is not only formally defined but effectively applied and sustained across the organization.
ISSB Integration & Disclosure Readiness Program
For Thai companies listed—or preparing to list—on the Stock Exchange of Thailand (SET) and required to comply with the Securities and Exchange Commission’s enhanced 56-1 One Report sustainability disclosure expectations.
This program supports companies in efficiently integrating the new IFRS S1 and IFRS S2 requirements into their 56-1 One Report. It provides a structured approach to building clear governance and reporting processes, establishing robust and auditable data foundations, and designing practical implementation plans. Through this, organizations can prepare all relevant sustainability information in a complete, consistent, and assurance-ready manner aligned with the evolving expectations of the Thai SEC and SET.
Greenhouse Gas (GHG) Accounting & Decarbonization Program
Building structured greenhouse gas (GHG) accounting, reporting, and decarbonization systems for Thai companies with export or investor exposure.
Objective: Support companies in developing verifiable and structured systems for greenhouse gas (GHG) accounting across Scopes 1–3, disclosure, and emission-reduction planning. The program follows a maturity-based pathway—from awareness and exposure mapping to verified data systems and, ultimately, a fully integrated compliance and decarbonization management framework. It is tailored to each company’s regulatory and market context, including Thai MRV and TGO guidance, the forthcoming Thai ETS, ISSB Standards and 56-1 One Report-S climate components, as well as international mechanisms such as CBAM, SBTi, or buyer-specific disclosure requirements, and the emerging ISO–GHG Protocol harmonized standards.
Circular Economy & EPR Readiness Program
For companies ready to align their products, operations, and governance with circular economy principles and existing and emerging regulatory expectations.
Objective: Support companies in designing and implementing governance and compliance systems that align with circular-economy and product-responsibility principles. The program helps organizations identify applicable regulatory frameworks, establish data and oversight mechanisms for material flows, and prepare for reporting and verification under EPR or circular-economy regimes.
It can be tailored to Thai, ASEAN, or international contexts — including the Thai Pollution Control Department’s (PCD) forthcoming EPR system, the ASEAN Circular Economy Framework, and buyer- or EU-driven requirements such as the Packaging and Packaging Waste Regulation (PPWR).
Supply-Chain Due-Diligence Program
For companies working to establish credible due-diligence systems that manage human-rights, environmental, and governance risks throughout their value chains.
Objective: Support companies in designing, implementing, and documenting due-diligence processes that identify, prevent, mitigate, and account for human-rights, environmental, and governance risks across their operations and value chains. The program follows a maturity-based progression — starting with policy and governance foundations, advancing to structured supplier-risk management, and culminating in a fully integrated monitoring and reporting system.
It is tailored to each company’s specific exposure, whether under Thailand’s forthcoming mandatory Human Rights and Environmental Due-Diligence (mHREDD) law, international frameworks such as the EU Corporate Sustainability Due-Diligence Directive (CSDDD), or buyer-driven requirements linked to global supply-chain standards.
