Course Overview
Thailand offers foreign investors an attractive investment proposition: a dynamic economy, modern infrastructure, a strategic location within ASEAN, targeted government incentives for key sectors, and a high quality of life for expatriate staff.
This course is designed for individuals, company representatives, investment planners, and business developers considering market entry or expansion in Thailand. It offers a structured first orientation to assess whether investment in the country makes strategic and operational sense.
Aiming to provide a solid foundation for understanding the key legal, economic, political, institutional, and socio-cultural factors that shape investment decisions, participants will be introduced to available legal structuring and design options, as well as the broader conditions under which business operations in Thailand are typically established.
Participants will gain a comprehensive initial overview of both overall opportunities and constraints—including regulatory conditions, policy and political stability, and the informal institutions that shape operational realities on the ground.
A feature of the course is the introduction and application of what we call the Domestic Investment Coefficient (DIC)—an assessment framework developed by CPG to evaluate a country’s overall investment climate. The DIC integrates a broad range of parameters to assess individual investment attractiveness and enables structured comparisons across relevant markets.
By the end of the course, participants will be equipped to make a more informed, strategically grounded decision about whether investment in Thailand is a viable option and how to proceed with the assessment of suitable entry formats.
Course Outcomes
By the end of the course, participants will be able to:
- Assess the strategic and operational relevance of Thailand as a potential investment destination based on a clear understanding of the broader political, legal, and institutional landscape;
