CPG at Commitment Day 2026 – Predictable Energy

24. August 2026

On August 19, CPG Program Manager Lucas Meier participated as a panelist in Commitment Day 2026, “Predictable Energy: Strengthening Resilience and Reducing Uncertainty,” held at The Athenee Hotel in Bangkok.

The event brought together representatives from the energy sector, data center industry, business, government, and other stakeholders to discuss Thailand’s evolving energy landscape and the conditions required for a more predictable, resilient, and competitive energy system.

Lucas joined the panel “Construction, EPC, Engineering, Economics – An Innovative and Economically Sound Data Centre Sector,” moderated by Bob Fox, together with Chailai van Kampen, Matthew Silvester, and İbrahim Kocagöz.

The discussion focused on the practical conditions for the continued expansion of Thailand’s data center sector, ranging from construction, engineering, and project delivery to energy availability, costs, and the evolving regulatory framework. Lucas contributed in particular on current developments concerning Thailand’s Direct PPA framework, Third Party Access, evolving electricity tariff structures, and the wider regulatory conditions affecting data center investment and operation.

The panel formed part of a wider program examining Thailand’s energy security and transition, including renewable energy, industrial energy efficiency, grid development, energy costs, and the rapidly growing electricity requirements associated with data centers and the digital economy.

CPG thanks the organizers and fellow panelists for the invitation and engaging exchange.
