From 21–24 August 2025, Echo Change and the German-Southeast Asian Center of Excellence for Public Policy and Good Governance (CPG) co-hosted the Future Action Summit Thailand 2025 at Swissotel Bangkok Ratchada, bringing together 150 young leaders from more than 60 countries.
Representing CPG, Program Manager Lucas Meier led an interactive workshop on the second day of the summit titled “The European Union Sustainability Frameworks: Curse or Blessing?”. The session examined how European Union sustainability rules extend beyond Europe through supply-chain and market linkages, affecting non-EU companies via customer contracts, financing conditions, and market access. Participants engaged in a debate on whether these frameworks represent a form of regulatory overreach or a stepping stone toward meaningful progress on the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs).
CPG thanks the Echo Change team for the successful collaboration, the instructors and participants for their engagement, and colleagues Venus Phuangkom, Morten Strantzen, and Alexander Wong for their valuable support in the summit.
