CPG, represented by Program Manager Lucas Meier, contributed to the Southeast Asia Social Policy Network’s first ASEAN–UK Roundtable on the Middle Class and Social Policy.
The discussion brought together participants from Southeast Asia and the United Kingdom and examined how the middle class is understood in different national and policy contexts, how economic uncertainty affects middle-income households, and how people respond and adapt to these pressures. Lucas contributed perspectives from Thailand to the comparative discussion.
The Southeast Asia Social Policy Network (SEASPN) connects research on social policy and political economy with policy practice and promotes exchange between Southeast Asian and Western research and policy communities.
CPG thanks the SEASPN team, and in particular Chalisa Chintrakarn, for the invitation and looks forward to continuing the exchange.
