Scholarship Opportunities 

The DAAD Development-Related Postgraduate Courses offers foreign graduates from development and newly industrialized countries from all disciplines and with at least two years’ professional experience the chance to take a postgraduate or Master’s degree at a state or state-recognized German university, and in exceptional cases to take a doctoral degree, and to obtain a university qualification (Master’s/PhD) in Germany. The Friedrich Ebert Foundation Scholarship is aimed at supporting students from Africa, Asia, Latin America or Eastern Europe that intend to study in Germany in any subject area. The students must demonstrate excellent school or academic merit and must be committed to the values of social democracy. The Horowitz Foundation for Social Sciences offers grants to emerging scholars pursuing research projects that address contemporary issues in the social sciences. For more information visit https://www.horowitz-foundation.org/grant-info. Deadline is on December 1, 2018 

The Singapore Management University offers Overseas Postgraduate Scholarships which provide financial support to recipients to pursue an overseas research programme. The scholarship includes academic guidance and mentorship. For more details go to https://www.smu.edu.sg/moe-start/overseas-pg-scholarship. Deadlines vary. 

The “ETH Zurich Postdoctoral Fellowship Program” supports incoming fellowships for postdoctoral researchers at the ETH Zurich. The program is intended to foster high-potential, young researchers who have already demonstrated excellence in terms of internationally competitive achievements in the early stages of their professional careers. Applications have to be made jointly by the candidate and their host who must be an ETH Zurich Professor and who will act as a mentor of the fellow.
