CPG's Peace & Security Center (CPSC)
To achieve its objectives, CPSC regularly convenes scholars, practitioners, and decision-makers from diverse fields such as politics, diplomacy, security, military, economics, and civil society. These engagements take place through a variety of activities including academic events, teaching, publishing, and capacity-building measures, fostering collaboration and knowledge exchange among stakeholders worldwide.
Overlapping with CPG’s focal interest in human rights and mediation, CPSC also works in the field of regional and international human rights protection, transitional justice, and memory culture, as well as political mediation.
The CPSC offers a wide range of services including:
- Research & Analysis
The CPSC conducts research on conflict dynamics, peace processes, and security issues on national, regional, and global. Research results are published in CPG’s own publications including the CPG book series on Constitutional Law, Politics and Governance, other books, and policy papers but are also in external publications.
Additionally, the Center continuously monitors and analyzes potential and actual conflict situations to develop risk analyses and response strategies.
- Policy Advisory
The CPSC conducts research on conflict dynamics, peace processes, and security issues on national, regional, and global. - Training and Capacity Building
On a regular basis, the CPSC organizes academies, schools, and workshops on developments in international relations, diplomacy, geopolitics, and regional security, both onsite and online. These training and capacity-building activities are attended by government officials, security personnel, civil society organizations, community leaders, students, and young academic professionals.
- Conflict Resolution and Mediation
Facilitating dialogue and negotiation between conflicting parties is another service the CPSC provides. It hosts informal talks and closed-door meetings also serves as a mediator in disputes at local, national, or international levels.
- Outreach and Networking
Leveraging CPG’s convening power, an average of 20-30 conferences, seminars, workshops, and other discussion forums are held each year, gathering seasoned scholars and experienced practitioners from all other the world for knowledge sharing on key peace and security issues. The events provide excellent opportunities for networking and collaboration among participating stakeholders.
