Governance & Compliance Hub (CGCH)

Within CPG´s usual activities – research and teaching, consulting, training, and networking – the governance & compliance hub specifically serves as a forum and point of contact for information, debate, advocacy, and coalitionbuilding in the area of ESG and supply chains compliance.

At the same time, we strive to optimally exploit the synergies that arise from the intersections with the three other focal areas of the CPG.

For example, the CMC, in cooperation with leading representatives of Asian mediation centers and law firms, developed an approach to operationalizing mediation in the ESG context, jointly presented as the Phuket Protocol. Here we advocate ma specific form of mediation to foster multi-stakeholder approaches and adjusting compliance management systems within international supply chains.

The activities of CPG´s Constitutional Law& Politics / Human Rights Hub (CCHH) also provide numerous impulses for the Governance & Compliance Hub. This includes discussions on different concepts of Good Governance depending on the socio-political context, the actualities of the regional/local rule of law infrastructure, diverging concepts and practices of fundamental rights, the interdependencies of constitutionalism and corruption, and, most importantly a rich and diverse experience in the research, teaching, training and consultancy in terms of human rights.

Synergies with the CPSC exist in terms of security, particularly in the area of export control law, regarding geopolitics and the changing macro-political conditions for the acceptance and enforceability of ESG values, as well as through the integration of practical insights from military command and control into the fundamental design of organization and leadership in the context of Governance and Compliance.
