“Political Dynamics in Nepal – Actors, Challenges, and Prospects”
📅 17 July 2024
⏰ 3:00-4:30 pm ICT (GMT+7)
📍 Online via Zoom video teleconferencing
📌 Short description: Nepal faces political uncertainty as the Communist Party of Nepal (Unified Marxist-Leninist) withdrew from the ruling coalition, intending to form a new government with the Nepali Congress. This move challenges Prime Minister Pushpa Kamal Dahal, who faces a confidence vote on July 12. Nepal’s politics have been unstable since the monarchy’s abolition in 2008, with frequent government changes and corruption scandals. The webinar will analyze these dynamics and discuss prospects for sustainable governance.
