Short description: From July 15-18, the 20th Central Committee of the Chinese Communist Party (CCP) will hold its Third Plenum in Beijing to set policies for the coming years. This gathering of nearly 400 members and non-voting alternate members is highly anticipated, as it is expected to address significant economic challenges, including slowing growth, a struggling real estate market, an aging population, rising debt, and increasing trade tensions.

The Third Plenum, traditionally a critical meeting in the CCP’s five-year political cycle often serves as a platform for significant policy decisions and strategic direction-setting. This year’s session is particularly crucial as it comes amid global economic uncertainties and internal pressures, with the Chinese government seeking to stabilize the economy and maintain social harmony.

The webinar will provide an in-depth analysis of the plenum’s outcomes, focusing on the proposed economic policies and reforms. It will also explore the broader implications for Chinese foreign policy
and global relations.
